Electrical engineering powers some of the most transformative innovations of our time—from renewable energy systems and advanced communication networks to autonomous robots and next-generation microchips. If you’re curious about how technology works and eager to shape the future, EE offers a path filled with possibilities. At IIT Delhi, EE students gain hands-on experience across diverse and cutting-edge domains, including robotics, microelectronics and VLSI design, electronic materials and devices, AI/ML and signal processing, embedded systems, smart grids, and more.
The Department of Electrical Engineering at IITD offers two undergraduate programs:
The EE1 and EE3 programs share a common foundation of basic science and general engineering courses in early semesters. The key difference lies in the core curriculum: EE1 provides a broad-based training in multiple domains of electrical engineering, including electronics, communication, control, computing, intelligent systems, and power. The EE3 program, while sharing a common foundation with EE1 in early semesters, has a specialized focus on power systems, renewable energy, and e-mobility technologies.
Whether your ambition is to design the next wave of breakthrough technologies or solve pressing real-world challenges, IIT Delhi’s EE program equips you with the knowledge, skills, and mindset to make a lasting impact. Join a vibrant community of innovators, researchers, and problem-solvers committed to building a smarter, more sustainable future.
Students graduating from the EE1 and EE3 programs will be able to:
