The Department of Electrical Engineering at IITD offers two undergraduate programs:

• B.Tech. in Electrical Engineering (EE1) and
• B.Tech. in Electrical Engineering Power & Automation (EE3)

The EE1 and EE3 programs share a common foundation of basic science and general engineering courses in early semesters. The key difference lies in the core curriculum: EE1 provides a broad-based training in multiple domains of electrical engineering, including electronics, communication, control, computing, intelligent systems, and power. The EE3 program, while sharing a common foundation with EE1 in early semesters, has a specialized focus on power systems, renewable energy, and e-mobility technologies.

Program Learning Outcomes

Students graduating from the EE1 and EE3 programs will be able to:

• PLO1: Apply fundamental electrical engineering principles combined with mathematical and scientific rigor to analyze and solve complex engineering problems.
• PLO2:
  • (EE1) Develop and implement electrical system designs that integrate knowledge from multiple disciplines, utilize current technological advancements, prioritize environmental sustainability, and consider the broader societal implications.
  • (EE3) Develop and realize electrical systems by fusing multidisciplinary knowledge to satisfy increasing energy demands while maintaining environmental sustainability.
